Joining Techniques for High-Clarity & High-Strength

Mitre Joining

Mitre joining remains one of our most refined methods for transparent materials. Edges are milled to 45 degrees and joined with UV-activated adhesive to form a near-invisible seam. This technique is preferred for:
  • Museum-grade display cases
  • Dust covers and protective enclosures
  • Retail counters and POS structures
  • Cabinets requiring a seamless acrylic finish

Mitre joining offers excellent visual clarity for
acrylic and polycarbonate fabrication.

Butt Joining

Butt joins use straight edges bonded with UV or 2K adhesive. After curing, the seam is routed and polished to produce a strong, uniform finish. This method is ideal for:
  • Heavy-duty cabinets
  • Furniture components
  • Thick-panel constructions
  • Structural or industrial plastic projects

For large or load-bearing items, butt joints deliver the strongest result in
plastics fabrication.
Extremely strong joints

Structural Strength & Long-Term Use

We understand that all fabricated pieces must perform reliably in their environment. Our fabrication team focuses on:

  • Mechanical strength
  • Long-term clarity and stability
  • Impact resistance
  • Clean, safe edges
  • Precision alignment for multi-panel structures

By focusing on these qualities, we ensure each product is prepared to serve at the highest level as display components, engineered plastic parts,
machine guards and commercial installations.

Museum-Grade Adhesive Quality

We’re renowned for our ability to produce museum-grade acrylic fabrication. Using controlled UV and 2K bonding, we achieve:
  • Seamless joins
  • No residue or clouding
  • Panels that visually blend together
  • Uniform transparency across all edges

This
quality is essential for archival displays, gallery cases and premium retail fit-outs requiring professional acrylic craftsmanship.

Advanced Machinery & Modern Bonding Methods

1K (UV bonding)

Used for transparent sheet materials up to 50 mm. Produces exceptionally clear, flawless joins in acrylic and polycarbonate.

2K bonding (Acrylic-3)

Used for non-transparent or structural materials. Delivers strong, resilient bonds suitable for commercial and industrial use.

With modern equipment and decades of practical experience, Plastix produces fabrication outcomes that meet the highest technical standards.
