Perspex is a brand name for acrylic sheet, like Kleenex is to tissues. They're the same material: polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA). We stock multiple brands of cast and extruded acrylic.

Acrylic is usually chosen for optical clarity, colour range, polished edges and display work. Polycarbonate is commonly chosen where impact resistance matters, including guards and protective panels. The right grade and thickness still depend on the job, so send the team the application details if safety or compliance is involved.

It depends on the material. Acrylic ranges from 1.5mm to 50mm across 14 standard thicknesses. Polycarbonate runs from 1mm to 15mm. Check each material page for the full list of available thicknesses.

For outdoor signage, ACP (aluminium composite panel) is the gold standard: it's rigid, flat, weatherproof, and UV-stable. For illuminated signs, opal or coloured acrylic works well. Coreflute is the go-to for temporary or event signage due to its light weight and low cost. All three are available cut to size from our Kingsgrove warehouse.

It depends on the grade, thickness, panel size, edge finish and installation. Acrylic is lighter and easier to machine into custom shapes than glass, which can make it practical for displays, covers and some glazing jobs. Compare the complete fabricated or installed requirement rather than sheet price alone.

Food-contact suitability is grade-specific, so do not assume every PETG or HDPE sheet carries the same certification. Tell the team how the part will be used and request the supplier documentation required for your application before ordering.

Cast acrylic is made by pouring liquid resin into moulds. It's optically superior, easier to polish, more resistant to solvents, and available in a wider range of colours and thicknesses (up to 50mm). Extruded acrylic is produced by pushing material through a die; it's more uniform in thickness, slightly cheaper, and easier to thermoform. For laser cutting and polishing, cast is the better choice.

For standard countertop sneeze guards and protective screens, 4.5mm or 6mm clear acrylic is the most common choice. For larger free-standing screens or high-traffic areas, 8mm or 10mm provides extra rigidity. We can cut to any size and add drilling for mounting hardware.

Polycarbonate is commonly considered for machine guards where impact resistance matters. Acrylic may suit lower-impact covers where clarity and finish are more important. Material and thickness still depend on the equipment and risk; the customer remains responsible for guard design, compliance and installation requirements.

Acrylic is an excellent choice for kitchen splashbacks. It's available in a wide range of colours (including mirror and frosted finishes), easy to clean, waterproof, and much lighter than glass. We recommend 4.5mm or 6mm thickness. Note: acrylic should not be installed directly behind gas cooktops; use polycarbonate or glass for areas exposed to high heat.

Yes, we offer laser cutting, CNC machining, and saw cutting. Laser and CNC can cut any 2D shape from a vector file (DXF, DWG, AI, or PDF). Our online calculator currently supports rectangles, circles, archways, and trapezoids. For complex shapes, contact us with your files for a quote.

We accept DXF, DWG, AI (Adobe Illustrator), and PDF vector files for laser and CNC cutting. Files should be to-scale with dimensions in millimetres. Raster images (JPG, PNG) cannot be used for cutting, they need to be traced to vector format first.

Yes, we offer hot-line bending for clean, precise angles (1°–180°) in acrylic up to 12mm thick and 2400mm long. For more complex forming, we also do oven forming and fabrication with solvent welding.

Polycarbonate is not ideal for laser cutting because it tends to discolour and produce rough edges. We recommend CNC routing or saw cutting for polycarbonate instead, which gives clean edges without discolouration. Acrylic, on the other hand, laser cuts beautifully with flame-polished edges.

Same-day cutting may be available for straightforward cut-to-size jobs using in-stock material. It is not automatic: contact the Kingsgrove team before relying on a pickup time, and wait for confirmation that the order is ready.

You can order a single cut-to-size piece. A $45 ex GST minimum applies once to the eligible cut-to-size order, not to every panel. Automatic quantity discounts apply to identical pieces at 10, 20 and 50 units where supported by the calculator.

Turnaround depends on stock, quantity, cutting process, finishing and current workshop load. Simple in-stock cut-to-size jobs may be available quickly, while fabricated or special-order work takes longer. The team will confirm timing rather than the website promising an unverified completion date.

Samples may be available for selected materials and colours. Contact the team with the material, colour and finish you need so availability, collection or delivery can be confirmed before you rely on a sample for approval.

Supported stocked combinations can show live pricing for rectangles, circles, archways and trapezoids. Special-order grades, unpriced combinations, unusual finishes and freight-sensitive jobs keep the entered specification but move to a manual quote instead of showing an unreliable price.

Pickup is available from our Kingsgrove warehouse (Mon-Fri, 7:30am-4pm). Sydney metro delivery is available on scheduled runs, and Australia-wide freight can be quoted through third-party carriers. The final option and price depend on panel size, packing, quantity and destination.
